      <title>Farasi Drug Addiction &amp; Infection Community Musings</title>
      <link>https://www.farasi.org/my-first-blog-post</link>
<description>Farasi Drug Addiction &amp; Infection Community is about all of us! Yes, heroin, cocaine, meth abuse afflicts our loved ones, and we don't choose which of our loved ones and friends will be victims of drug addiction. And yes, our grandparents are also at risk when they take those prescription benzodiazepines and narcotics like Ativan, Xanax, Diazepam, Hydrocodone, Percocet, Norco, Morphine, Oxycodone, among others! This blog will free wheel on these challenges especially as it pertains to infection. How is infection connected to narcotic and benzodiazepine use? Are we doing enough to identify infection in patients on these substances not only for medical but also for recreational use? How often does infection intersect with narcotic and benzodiazepine use? This blog will explore these challenges, and proffer solutions of use to the entire community, including hospitalists, emergency room physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Enjoy the read!</description>
